Meet Emily Hannon, health supportive chef, restaurant and catering business owner, food columnist, yoga enthusiast ( we could go on) and Karyn Seltzer former senior management of NYC faves like Sarabeth’s Kitchen, a writer, a theater producer and more. And now, co-founders of Brooklyn Porridge Co.
As the saying goes – know your past, know your future. Enter Brooklyn Porridge – a pop up cafe making clever use of the Uncle Louis Ice Shop on Union Street in Park Slope, to bring “ancient” foods, forward. They are serving up “design your own porridge bowls” made from naturally gluten free-traditional grains, topped with savory and sweet creations, all organic and non-GMO. Comfort food, redefined.
Blended Oats, Velvet Amaranth or Creamy Grits can be paired with the likes of Maple-bourbon Ham, Vermont Cheddar and Cinnamon Apples or choose from a long list of fruits, veggies, cheese, nuts, and meats.
This Sunday Feb. 9 Brooklyn Porridge will be on double pop up duty as they set up mini shop at the first Gluten-Free EatUP! Savory and Sweet toppings…bring that appetite kids!
